Refund Policy

Last updated:

This policy covers the PDFixel browser extension. The PDFixel web app at pdfixel.app is billed separately — read that policy here.

Before anything else: try it free

The extension’s free tier gives you 10 documents a day with every feature unlocked — nothing is withheld from it. The yearly plan additionally includes a 7-day free trial.

Between them, you should not need a refund to find out whether the extension does what you need. If you cancel during the trial, no payment is taken at all.

1. What you paid

PlanPrice
Monthly$5.79 USD / month
Yearly$48.79 USD / year, after a 7-day free trial

Prices are exclusive of any applicable tax, which is calculated at checkout.

2. Merchant of Record

Dodo Payments is our Merchant of Record. They take the payment, handle tax, issue your invoice and process refunds. Your payment receipt comes from Dodo, and card details never reach us.

That matters practically: a refund is issued by Dodo, to the original payment method, and appears on your statement under their processing. We can approve and request it, but we cannot push money to your card ourselves.

3. The refund window

Eligible payments may be refunded in full within 14 days of the charge.

Ask through extension support or through Dodo’s customer portal, linked from the Pro panel in the extension. Include the email you paid with — that is all that is needed to find the transaction.

Two operational limits worth knowing:

  • Dodo’s refund system requires a refund to be initiated within 30 days of the original transaction. Past that, a refund cannot be processed through the normal route even where it would otherwise be reasonable.
  • Refunds are provided at Dodo’s discretion under their Buyer Terms and may be refused where there are signs of abuse — for example repeated purchase-and-refund cycles on the same account.

4. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from the customer portal linked in the Pro panel.

Cancelling stops future charges. It does not refund the period you are in. Pro keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the extension returns to the free tier — with your files, projects and presets untouched, because they were never anywhere but your own device.

Cancelling part way through a month or a year does not normally create a prorated refund for the unused part. If you cancel a yearly plan in month two, you keep Pro for the remaining ten months rather than receiving ten months back.

5. During the trial

Cancel before the 7-day trial ends and no payment is taken, so there is nothing to refund. The trial is not a charge.

If the first yearly payment has been taken because the trial ran out, the 14-day window in section 3 applies to that payment as normal.

6. Things that are not grounds for a refund on their own

Listed so you can check before buying rather than after:

  • A tool not doing something the extension never claimed to do. Redaction, digital signatures, form filling, handwriting recognition, keeping image metadata, animated GIF frames, AI object removal and upscaling are all deliberately absent, and all of them are listed in the Terms, on the overview page, and in the extension’s own “What this does not do” panel.
  • A file format producing an imperfect result. Document and image formats are inconsistent in practice. Test with your own files on the free tier first — that is what it is there for.
  • Forgetting to cancel. The renewal date is shown in the customer portal at any time. We will still look at a renewal you clearly did not intend, but it falls under section 7 rather than being automatic.

7. Where we will help anyway

Contact us and we will sort it out, inside or outside the window:

  • A duplicate charge, or being billed twice for the same period.
  • A charge you did not authorise.
  • A licence key that never arrived, or one that will not activate for a reason we cannot resolve.
  • A renewal immediately after a cancellation that clearly did not register.

None of these need arguing. Write in and describe what happened.

8. Locked out after a reinstall — this is not a refund case

If you reinstalled the extension or reset your browser profile and your key now reports that it is already activated, your subscription is fine and you do not need a refund. The old device registration is still held and needs releasing.

Use the Manage licence page linked from the Pro panel to release it, then activate again. If that does not work, write in and we will release it for you.

9. Disputes and chargebacks

Dodo provides a dispute and chargeback process for eligible transactions, and their Buyer Terms ask customers to contact the merchant first.

Please do that. A chargeback takes weeks, costs a fee, and usually results in the subscription being suspended — where an email would have resolved it the same day.

10. Tax

Any tax-related refund or adjustment follows the tax rules that apply where you are and Dodo’s own policies. Tax refunded is whatever was collected on the original charge.

extension support — include the email you paid with.
